I'm fortunate to be married to somebody who has an eye for photography and enjoys playing with the camera.
When I suggested a couple months ago that we take our own maternity photos, I think Kevin was a little nervous. And to be honest, I was a little nervous, too. I'm not comfortable being in front of the camera, and to my own critical eye, most posed photos of me show that discomfort.
But my mom offered to babysit for several hours if we wanted to orchestrate our own shoot... and also if I stepped outside of my own comfort zone and took some memory-making pictures.
So.
She did, and we did, and the results came out better than I think perhaps any of us anticipated. Kevin took hundreds of photos, about 30 of which made it through the editing process and are "keepers" for Baby Boy's photo album.
