35 Weeks

We're in the home stretch! As far as Baby Boy's development goes, there's a "fully-developed" baby rollin' around in there. The next couple weeks are for weight gain and those finishing touches, but for the most part, he's "done."

Wow.

Baby's size:
a honeydew melon; over 18 inches (head to heel) and5.25 lbs.

What Munchkin is up to (according to Babycenter):
Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now. Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

Symptoms
: I think that sometime in the last week or so, Baby Boy has dropped. In many ways, this is a good thing. I can breathe so much easier, and it's much more comfortable to sleep at night because he's not shoved up under my ribs. It does mean that I'm doing a full-on waddle by the end of the day, but that comes with the territory, right?

Biggest complaint right now? Dry/burning sensation in my eyes. I thought it was my makeup, but after a little googling, I've found that it may actually be pregnancy related and a symptom I just skipped out on with Mia. Whatever it is, it's just about impossible for me to wear my contacts, and my eyes are still red/burning/watering throughout the day. It's an attractive look.

Total Weight Gain: 28 lbs

Best moment since last update: Last weekend, we had a shower/tea party to celebrate Baby Boy's upcoming arrival. He (and I) received lots of love and attention :)

Movement: Less kicking, more squirming and wiggling, but he's still finding ways to move around in there.

Food cravings: I've been munching on hard pretzels all week.

Gender: BOY!

What I miss: Having clothes, even maternity clothes, that fit. Most of my pants I now just roll down under my stomach to keep from having the waist cut across the middle, which is uncomfortable for me, and, apparently, for Baby Boy. As far as the tops, if they're not longer and form fitting, they just hang out over the edge of my stomach, leaving the bottom half bare (and cold!). So I'm rotating through a limited selection of outfits that are still comfortable and make me feel good.

What I'm looking forward to: Heading out of town this weekend (sans toddler) to celebrate Kevin's 30th birthday, and also just for a little bit of quiet time before the "new baby" chaos descends.
