28 Weeks

28 weeks. That's the beginning of the third trimester, folks. The home stretch. The beginning of the end (or the beginning of the beginning). Either way, it suddenly feels really close... or really far away.

Clear as mud, right?

I like this take on the beginning of the third trimester. She hits the nail exactly on the head, and describes her feelings in a much funnier way than I could.

So.

How far along: 28 weeks

Baby's size: a Chinese cabbage; 14.8 inches (head to heel) and2.25 lbs. (Not sure where these oddball numbers are coming from, but okay)
What Munchkin is up to (according to Babycenter):
He can blink his eyes, which now sport lashes. With his eyesight developing, he may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. He's also developing billions of neurons in his brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

Symptoms: Mostly just feeling tired and heavy. Constantly hungry, but feel full after eating smaller amounts

Total Weight Gain: 20 lbs

Best moment since last update: Passed all of my third trimester labs, including the glucose test, so now it's all "smooth sailing" until D-day.

Movement: Yup.

Food cravings: Fresh fruit. Mia and I went through an entire large bag of grapes in two days.

Gender: BOY!

What I miss: Sleep.

What I'm looking forward to: This coming Wednesday is our hospital tour. It'll be nice to see the place where this baby will get his start, and where he and I will spend the first couple of days. Mia was born in a military facility, so this is a new experience for us.
