How far along: 27 weeks
Baby's size: a head of cauliflowerr; 14.5 inches (head to heel) and almost 2 lbs.
What Munchkin is up to (according to Babycenter): He's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing his eyes, and perhaps even sucking his fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While his lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if he were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother him, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.
Symptoms: Actually, this week has been pretty "easy"! Whatever was pressing on the nerve in my back for most of last week shifted and this week has been soooo much better. I feel heavy and a little slow, but pretty good this week!
Total Weight Gain: 20 lbs
Best moment since last update: Unrelated specificallyto Baby Boy, but we officially have Mia out of diapers! Still in Pull-Ups at night, but clean and dry during the day. Yes, I know there could be regression. But I'm hopeful that she'll continue to enjoy being a "big girl" and I can have a 3-month break before jumping back into the world of diapers again.
Movement: Yup.
Food cravings: Fresh fruit (of which I've had much less than I've wanted to this week)
Gender: BOY!
What I miss: Sleep. Also, not feeling winded walking up and down 2 flights of stairs on laundry day.
What I'm looking forward to: Another check-up on Tuesday. And the glucose test, which I'm not looking forward to, except that it'll be another item we can check off the list.
