Early Preparations and Catching Up

Having alot of pink and frills and bows in our house, shopping for a boy is a whole new experience! But "new" is definitely not "bad", and so now that we know the gender of this baby, I consider it my duty as a responsible parent to make sure that the child has plenty of suitable clothing. And maybe even a little footwear, just for show:





We've also begun to clean out the office that will be the new nursery. We've taken a few things off the wall and given all the craft and office supplies a new home. There's still alot in there to be donated or relocated to new storage somewhere else in the house, but we're making slow progress.

And lest you think that in the midst of this, we've forgotten that we have another child...



... rest assured that's not the case. In fact, Mia is one of the reasons I'm only able to update here on a weekly basis and not more often. She is healthy, and thriving, and speaking in full sentences, and occasionally living up to the "terrible twos". She is a constant blur of motion from the moment she wakes up till the time she goes to bed at night, so that most nights after she finally falls asleep, I'm done for the night, too.

The days are hot, hot, HOT, but summer is slipping by and fall will be here before we know it. Some days seem to last forever, but I'm also aware of how much time is slipping past and how things will change again in 4 months.
