25 Weeks

I don't know why, but this week feels like a milestone to me. 25 weeks down, 15 weeks to go. I remember feeling this way while pregnant with Mia, too. Maybe because 25 seems like a round number? Maybe because 15 seems so...short? Maybe because in less than a week, the countdown of days will go from triple digits to double? I dunno, but this week feels "big".

So...

How far along:
25 weeks

Baby's size: a rutabaga (say what!?) ; 13.5 inches (head to heel) and 1.5 lbs.

What Munchkin is up to (according to Babycenter):

He's beginning to exchange hislong, lean look for some baby fat. As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he'll start to look more and more like a newborn (Eeeek! :D). He's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

This last bit about the hair is something I wonder about. Kevin and I both have thick hair, and Mia came out with a full set, so it's likely that this one will, too. But Mia is blond, like me. Will this little boy have dark hair, like his Daddy, or be light-haired like his Mommy and sister??

Symptoms: Body aches, especially lower back. Tired, even with plenty of sleep

Total Weight Gain: 16lbs

Best moment since last update: Mia is becoming more and more aware of the impending existence of her baby "brudda". It's fun to watch her mind wrap around this concept. Currently, she insists that her baby brudda sleeps in her tummy, behind her belly button, because mine is too full.

Movement: Yup

Food cravings: Pizza, calzone, cheese sticks... all have sounded really good this week, but I haven't given into this temptation yet.

Gender: BOY!

What I miss: Sleeping on my stomach. Being able to walk for an extended period of time without shooting pains in my back and down my left leg.

What I'm looking forward to: More dreaming, more planning.
