How far along: 17 weeks
Baby's size: a turnip; 5 inches long, and 5 oz.
What Munchkin is up to (according to Babycenter.com):
Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.
Symptoms: Lower backaches/popping at the end of the day. Some changes in balance.
Total Weight Gain: *cough* 10 lbs. For those keeping track, that is, in fact, 5lbs this week. I'd love to "blame" it all on baby, but the reality is most of it is just vacation eating. Oops.
Best moment since last update: Lots and lots of movement now, especially when shocked with cold water. Mom and Kevin both claim they felt Munchkin move from the outside this past week.
Movement: yep
Food cravings: Nothing specific this week.
Gender: Stay tuned! Appointment scheduled for July 18th!
What I miss: Sleeping on my stomach.
What I'm looking forward to: Baby kicks and rolls that can be seen from the outside as Munchkin grows bigger and stronger.
