16 Weeks

How far along: 16 weeks

Baby's size: an avacado; 4.5 inches long, and 3.5oz.

What Munchkin is up to (according to Babycenter.com):
Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

Symptoms:
Lower backaches/popping at the end of the day. Otherwise, nada :)

Total Weight Gain: 5lbs.

Best moment since last update: When I woke up this morning, and rolled onto my back, Munchkin was pressed right up against my stomach, just to the right of my belly button. I could actually cup my palm around a baseball-sized lump. I can't feel him/her moving from the outside, but alot of times if I lay still, I can feel where he/she is resting.

Movement:
yep

Food cravings:
Ice cream...chocolate with chocolate chunk

Gender:
Stay tuned! Appointment scheduled for July 18th!

What I miss:
Sleeping on my stomach. It's been a rough sleeping week, but I think I've finally rigged up the correct set-up using a complex series of pillows.

What I'm looking forward to:
Toes in the sand for the next week :D
