Where the Boys Are

While I've been leading storytelling at VBC this week, Mia has been spending a couple hours each morning in the nursery. She's too young to join in with VBC activities, but our church runs a nursery for children 2 and under whose parents are volunteering.


The woman running the nursery and her volunteers were fabulous! In addition to play time in the "big room", she organized snacks twice a morning, time in the gym, time on the outdoor playground, bubbles, and all sorts of activities. Mia had a fabulous time!


Some of the church youth also volunteered to help out in the nursery. Mia "adopted" one young man earlier in the week and had him wrapped around her little finger. Today, he had two of his friends along. When I went to pick Mia up at the end of the morning, she had all THREE teenage boys pushing her around in the jeep while she "drove", babbling happily the whole time. When I asked if she was ready to go home, she hopped off the jeep, gave them a cheery little wave, and headed towards the doors without a second glance.
