I had set myself a deadline of one month before our due date to get the nursery set up and ready. We set this same "one month before" deadline when setting up the last nursery, too. By the time those last couple of weeks arrive, I'm too tired to do the work, and I like to think that
if something happened and I went into labor early, there's a room ready for the baby to come home and occupy. I'm a little bit of a planner
*coughcough*
That one month deadline will be here on November 1st, and while I'm not sure the room will be 100% ready, it'll be close. The bedding is
almost done...I just need to finish closing a few seams. The wall art is completed, but not hung in its final spot yet. I need to put together the mobile. We need to buy a new mattress for the crib. We need a lamp since the room has no overhead lighting. And I need some organizational bins for the bookshelf.
All of these are minor projects in comparison to the work that's already been done. So like I said... I'm not sure it'll be 100% complete in the next 11 days... but it will be close.
In the meantime, here's a little peek:
(These window treatments should have been one of the simplest pieces in the room to create and instead caused all sorts of problems. I'm still not sure why, but I'm pretty happy with them now.)
(Name plate that will hang on the door. Actual name will be revealed in 6ish weeks!)
(Bed skirt and bumpers. We decided long ago what our theme would be, but had the hardest time finding the fabric that matched the look we were going for. So glad we were able to find this and carry on with our original plan when we had just about given up hope.)
(This baby blanket is so soft. Can't wait to snuggle with Baby Boy!)
(Wall art, courtesy of Kevin. Again, a project that started out with one idea, had to be improvised, and came out perfectly.)
