32 Weeks

This week's stats-

Baby's size: a large jicama (don't know what that is? I didn't, either. It basically looks like a giant potato); just over 16.7 inches inches (head to heel) and 3.75lbs.

What Munchkin is up to (according to Babycenter):
You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, he'll gain a third to half of his birth weight during the next 7 weeks as he fattens up for survival outside the womb. He now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). His skin is becoming soft and smooth as he plumps up in preparation for birth.

Symptoms
: Somewhere around Wednesday of last week, I came down with a head/chest cold that I'm still trying to kick. Lots of achiness, sinus pressure, fatigue, etc., and I can't take DayQuil to get me through the day or NyQuil to help me sleep at night. In general, it's hard to tell the cold symptoms from the pregnancy symptoms, so let's just sum it all up by saying that this past week I've not looked or felt my best.

Total Weight Gain: 25 lbs

Best moment since last update: Furniture is in the nursery! Woohoo! Now I can start putting away the clothes/blankets/other foldable items that are currently taking up residence in his crib.

Movement: Yup. Still some kicks, but mostly just rolls and stretches now. Probably getting a little tight in there.

Food cravings: Since I've been feeling under the weather, my eating has been pretty random. I reach for whatever sounds good at the time.

Gender: BOY!

What I miss: Sleeping. Also I can not get from the top floor of our 3-story home to the bottom floor without sounding like an asthmatic. Laundry days are fun :P

What I'm looking forward to: Another doctor's appointment next Thursday. Also, going to try and slip out on Sunday to hit up the Columbus Day sales at the outlet stores and see if I can get some good deals on some post-partum essentials for me-- something to wear in the hospital during recovery, nursing tanks, yoga pants, stuff like that. Our "need" list for Baby Boy is getting closer and closer to being finished, but there are still some things I'm lacking for myself.
