This week's stats-
Baby's size: a head of cabbage; just over 15.7 inches inches (head to heel) and just shy of 3 lbs.
What Munchkin is up to (according to Babycenter):
A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds him, but that volume will decrease as he gets bigger and takes up more room. His eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after he's born, he'll keep his eyes closed for a good part of the day. When he does open them, he'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means he can only make out objects a few inches from his face.
Symptoms: S.l.o.w.i.n.g d.o.w.n. Hungry, but feeling really full after eating. Normal aches and pains.
Total Weight Gain: 23 lbs
Best moment since last update: I finally bit the bullet and started sewing the nursery bedding this week. This project has been on my mind for awhile, but I hadn't touched a sewing machine since middle school and the task seemed really intimidating. This week, I finally buckled down and got started, and so far I'm pretty pleased with the results. Not perfect, but definitely passable and I enjoy putting the work and the creativity into it.
Movement: Yup. Generally right around bedtime. And on my right side. Which is the side I like to sleep on, since my preferred position of sleeping on my stomach is out.
Food cravings: Fruit. Also, planning on pizza of some sort for dinner Saturday night and already looking forward to that.
Gender: BOY!
What I miss: Fortunately, my biggest complaint this pregnancy has been lack of (decent) sleep. This is an ongoing problem, but if that's all I have to miss/worry about, then I'll take it.
What I'm looking forward to: Another doctor's appointment next week to check on heartbeat and measurements. Also hoping to put the crib together in the next couple days.
