With Halloween, and birthdays, and new ideas, and doctor's appointments, and just life in general, it's hard to believe that we're already approaching the middle of November.
This picture does not do the blazing tree in our front yard justice. But it's home to a family of squirrels. Daily, we sit on our front steps and watch them race up and down the tree, to Mia's extreme delight. She thinks they are there just to play peekaboo with her. She waits patiently for one to come down the tree, then triumphantly shouts, "Der shees! (There she is!)."
It's good.
To pause.
To breathe.
To regroup.
