Spinning

That about sums up the last couple weeks.

Last Wednesday, we put an offer in on a house. The property was way overpriced, and so our offer was low-balled, but fair.

Then we waited. And waited.

We learned that the agent would be reviewing the offers on Friday. Fine.

Friday came and went.

No word.

Saturday we went out looking again, and found a second choice. We went back on Sunday for an Open House and learned that they already had 3 offers in and would be making a decision that night.

Our agent was out of town, and we decided not to withdraw the offer on our first choice to compete with 3 other offers on our second.

Nothing in our price range on the market on Monday.

On Tuesday, we did hear from the seller's agent that the offer we had in was non-competitive. All this after the price on the house we liked had dropped 3 times since we put the offer in. We gave the the seller a deadline of 5:00 Wednesday to make a decision, one way or another, or we were pulling out.

On Wednesday, I went to see another property. A property that needs a little TLC (paint, carpet cleaning, possibly new appliances), but that has alot of potential.

We didn't hear anything back from the other agent about our offer, so last night we withdrew.

This morning Kevin is headed out to view the house I saw yesterday. If all goes well, I'll drive out to the real estate office and meet him and our agent there to put in an offer.

And maybe, just maybe this one will be more successful.

Because I can kinda sorta really see myself living there.

Finding a balance between optimism and patience has been the hardest part. Homes in our price range are turning over in days, so decisions have to made quickly, and there's definitely some luck involved.

So.

There's that.

And speaking of spinning...

Wanna see Mia's new trick? She started doing this on her own a few days ago. Normally, she does several rotations, falls down, and claps enthusiastically.

Cute!
Hope your house-finding/buying goes well.
We are trying to sell ours, and it is a pain! (And stresses me out, just a bit!) :)
