Interwebs, this is Lamby. Lamby, this is Interwebs.
Before it's commented upon, I'm aware that Lamby is, in fact, a rabbit. I don't remember when I started calling it Lamby, but I was likely tired at the time, and Lamby it's become. Oh well.
Now actually, Lamby has been a member of our family for awhile. Lamby is one of two snugglies. I have used both interchangably so that Mia would not become attached to one in particular.
Last night, just before bed, I was cleaning up the nursery and noticed that Lamby needed a trip to the washing machine. So I switched him out with He-Who-Has-No-Name:
Oh no, she didn't!
Well, yes, I did. You experienced parents already know where this story is going, don't you?
We proceeded with bedtime. Bath. Warm jammies. Bottle. Cuddles. Bed.
Commence screaming.
Pick up, more cuddles. Screaming continues.
Pass off from Daddy to Mommy. A little more from the bottle. Cuddles. Sleep.
I placed Mia in the bed, and go downstairs where we briefly wonder what the heck had happened, but pass it off as being overtired and go about the evening.
Until 10:50. Recommence screami
ng.
ng.Not hungry. Not wet. Falls asleep on my chest, but wakes up again as soon as I put her in the crib.
It was then I remembered Lamby.
Sometimes I'm slow.
Fortunately, clean Lamby was only slightly damp and was certainly better than screaming.
He-Who-Has-No-Name was once again rotated out and Lamby was put back in the game.
Screaming stops immediately. The rubbing of Lamby's ears begins and Mia is out within a minute.
Lesson learned.
Sorry, Mr. He-Who-Has-No-Name. Mommy needs her sleep.
