We're a little over 2 weeks into the world of "solid" foods. And Mia obviously doesn't take after me in this area, because she's proving to be a slightly more picky eater:
Rice cereal: Eh. Take it or leave it.
Oatmeal: LOVES
Sweet Potato: No way. Never. Yelling, screaming, thrashing and arching of the back occur at the mere sight of it.
Carrots: Tolerated if snuck in between bites of oatmeal.
Pumpkin: LOVES
Actually, come to think of it, I'm not a sweet potato or carrot fan, either. Maybe she's got a little of me in her after all.
And oh, the adventure that is feeding. The child is too busy to take time out to eat. So even sitting in her high chair, she's leaning forward to closer examine the tray, or pull on the strap that holds her in, or investigate that bit of food that fell off the spoon onto her bib.... I have to actually hold her head back with two fingers to feed her so that her attention is on eating.
Every day is a new adventure 'round here.
