We had no real warning that this was going to happen. 2 nights ago, if you let her go, she tipped over immediately. Tonight...BAM! She had it down. And not just for a few seconds. Oh no. When this little one decides to do something, she does it all the way. She sat like this for several minutes. I was so ridiculously excited.
And what has her rapt attention? That would be our new Praise Baby DVD. I picked this up on a whim a couple days ago from the clearance table at a local Christian Family store. Love, love, love it! I paid a whopping $5 for it, and we've already got our money's worth. The DVD has 10 contemporary and traditional praise and worship songs on it, with simple, melodic instrumentals and bright, vivid colors. Mia really responds to it, and I feel better that she's watching something other than Court TV while I'm making dinner.
And finally, here's Mia lovin' on Callie. She's just recently noticed her and gets so excited when Callie comes into her view. Fortunately, Callie is so docile, as Mia's definition of "lovin' on" is not entirely gentle.
There's a running joke in my family that my first word was not "Mama" or "Dada". It was "kitty." If Mia's fascination with Callie is any indication, she may follow suit. What goes around comes around...my parents will be thrilled :p
