5 months

Baby Mia, you're 5 months old today!

What you're up to:

• You weigh about 13 pounds, according to our semi-accurate bathroom scale. We're not sure of your length, but you're now able to stand and bounce easily in your exersaucer. We can't wait for your doctor's appointment next week so that we can get your updated "stats".


• You eat 5 six ounce bottles a day.


• You have become a pretty scheduled little person. You eat every 3 hours, almost to the minute. Bathtime is at 8:00pm every night, and you're usually asleep by 8:45. You wake up at 7:15am, and then play and talk to yourself in the crib until about 7:45am.


• You take one quick half hour nap around 9:30am, and then a long one in the afternoon from 2:30-4:30 or 5:00pm.


• You've mastered rolling in both directions, and do so all the time. If something you want is out of your reach, you'll roll yourself across the floor to get to it.


• You're thinking about crawling, though it's a little too early yet. But you will get your knees tucked under and scootch a little bit.


• You have control of your hands and use them to grab at anything that gets within your reach. You can also pass things back and forth from hand to hand, lift them up and put them on your head, and throw your toys (whether the last is intentional or not...)


• You are extremely active. You roll all over and wave your hands and pull the blanket over your head and kick your feet. Your whole body is moving, moving, moving all day long.


• You are still extremely social. You love to be out and about around town, whether it's just for a walk, or running errands.


• You love music. A soft tune will calm you down when you are fussy, and a more upbeat tune will make you smile and kick your feet.


• Your favorite toy is the ladybug/spider you're holding below. You love to chew on and pull at all the little pieces. We take this toy with us everywhere!



• You're such a treat and we love watching you learn and grow each day!
