The den area, where we spend a good part of our day, has wood floorings. Up to this point, I have beenable to put Mia's playmat, which is lightly padded, on the floor in there when she plays. But on Sunday, she started rolling consistently from back to tummy to back again. The tummy to back part though? Is more like she leans over until the force of gravity pulls her to her back. This morning, she hit the floor a little too hard and conked her head. Nothing horrible, about 30 seconds of crying, a few kisses and she was ready to play again. But this time, I put a small quilt underneath the playmat to provide more padding.
Good idea, Mom. Except it only took me 10 minutes to realize that she was going to roll her way entirely off the extended space.
So this is what it looks like now (Hi Mia!) :

I'm hoping this idea works for a little while. I know, I know, not for long. But I like using this room because I can see it from the kitchen, so I can get other things done while she rolls around and plays on the floor. We have one carpeted room downstairs and it's not as convenient, but it's where I see us spending more time in the near future.

She's so curious and wants to investigate EVERYTHING. I simultaneously look forward to and dread the day she starts to become mobile.

I am glad to hear that you guys enjoyed the saucy italian pork chops. Mia is getting so big and she is just so darn cute. Maybe when Peanut makes his/her arrival, we can arrange a meeting. :-)
A meeting? That's all you're offering? Pshaw - if Peanut is a boy, I'd like to discuss an arranged marriage!
What about getting a large area rug for the den? Then you can put Mia's playmate on that.
