Blog Hop

Because I like "meeting" new people, and because I spend alot of time sitting on the couch, websurfing, while SOMEBODY enjoys her dozenth meal of the day...I'm putting my little blog out there. I have to say, though, I'm just a little bit intimidated by all the

other "pro" bloggers.

So let's see, me first. I started blogging 4 years ago, just after getting married. My husband and I kept our blogs separate until this past fall, when I announced my pregnancy. Now it's a family blog, but it's usually me who writes during naptimes, so maybe it's more a usually-mommy-but-sometimes-daddy-too blog. Mostly, I write to keep our family and friends updated, but I've got a cute baby, so if that's your thing, keep checking back!

I taught elementary school for 4 years before deciding to pursue a Master's degree in Library Science. This decision happened around the time we moved from Virginia Beach to Northern Virginia (DC suburbs) so I traded in my full-time job for a part-time job tutoring and went after the degree. A year later, I'm 2 semesters away from finishing, and I've traded in that part time job for just a few hours a week so that I can stay at home with baby Mia. Phew! Things change fast.

My husband is a Navy Lieutenant who used to see all sorts of exciting places when he was on sea duty. Now he sees the inside of a cubicle, but he gets to hob nob with some "exciting" people, so I guess that makes it all worth it. He'll taking his law school entrance exams later on this fall, and then we'll be off on another adventure. Here we are at our wedding 4 years ago-

But really, the star of this blog is Mia. See?

Mia arrived in April of this year and has taken over our lives completely. She's a sweet, sweet, baby with a stubborn streak and one heck of a temper, when she chooses. She just turned 3 months old and has decided that naps are for babies, which she clearly is not. She sleeps through the night, but is afraid that if she naps during the day, she'll miss out on something important. That's the stubborn streak. So she'll go go go go go until she has a mini-meltdown (there's the temper) and finally passes out.
