This is Mia's new trick. She's done it twice now. Yesterday, when I went in to get her up from her nap and found her like this yet again, I remembered to grab the camera.
You see where her head is? That's where her head was when I put her down for her nap 2 hours earlier. If you look closely, you can even see the paci by her ear where she spit it out once she fell asleep.
But her feet? They were originally positioned at the bottom of this picture. She sleeps deeply during her naptime, and at night, but in the morning, as she starts to wake up, but before she calls out that she's ready for me to come get her, she moves. She accomplishes this by scooting her rear and legs up and down until she's "wormed" her way around. Her head, meanwhile, stays in the exact same spot and just pivots.
If you're really observant, you can also see that her eyes are open, and that she's not in any sort of distress. She thinks this is a great game! When I go in to say hello, she smiles up at me and kicks her feet up and down several times. I think that she's hoping that if she proves to me that she can get around on her back, I'll stop putting her on her tummy.
No such luck, but a girl can try!

Our technical term for that was "sundialing."
Just wait 'til you experience "cougaring."
