When did April become May? Where was I?
Mia is 3 weeks and seems to be thriving, at least as far as we can tell. Her alert periods are longer, and she's beginning to interact more with those around her. She knows Kevin's and my voices and will seek us out with her eyes even when we're talking to her from across the room. She's still feeding about every hour and a half during the day, which explains the baby pudge she's developing on her arms. She's too young to smile, but she's got a range of expressions that change as she "talks." Totally random, but fun just the same...it gives us a taste of the personality that's slowly emerging.
I'm falling into my new groove as "Mommy". This past week, I've become braver about getting out of the house. On Tuesday and Wednesday, Mia and I even ran errands all by ourselves. Woohoo! We're slowly introducing her to society as well. We took her to church last Sunday, and have plans for a bbq with 2 other families (not at our house, thankfully) on Saturday.
Kevin went back to work this week. I start back to work, just a few hours a week, in about 2 weeks. I'm still feeling a little bit dazed. I get to the end of a day, when Mia's bathed, fed, and sleeping, and I'm still surprised to find another day has gone. But we're finding our new normal and that's a good thing.
