Our first real snow of the year arrived last night. This has caused some frustrations around our house this morning. Kevin left for work at 6, arriving at 8:30, only to find nobody else came to work today, and ended up heading home around 11:00.
Meanwhile, my job does not close for snow. While the main roads have been salted and cleared, the approx mile from our house to the main road has not, and we've got about 7 inches of the fluffy white stuff. I'm paranoid about slipping or falling or running off the road and was dreading the 30 minute commute into work.
Just as I was getting myself together to go, my boss called to let me know that both of my students had cancelled this afternoon. I feel much better that that decision was taken out of my hands, and I didn't have to cancel OR go out.
So now we're both in for the day, though one of us will have to shovel. The other one of us will make sure the shoveler is rewarded with hot chocolate from the stove.

Hmpf.
This is false advertising. I'm still waiting on that hot chocolate. Maybe you didn't notice that I shoveled. Perhaps I should go put all the snow back so you see the difference.
