37 Weeks

We've reached 37 weeks...full term. If Mia decided she wanted to make an appearance now, my doctor would let things progress naturally, and she'd be born a healthy weight with lungs able to function on their own. Another milestone reached! Now we just play the waiting game. I swing between wanting to see her NOW, and knowing I need just a little more time to wrap up some loose ends. For example, I'm scheduled to work up until April 3rd. And I'm in the middle of a large graduate project that I would really like to complete before Mia arrives. So, pay attention Baby Girl...

Mommy needs you to stay put until April 3rd. By that time, Mommy will finish work, her project will be done, and her birthday will be over so you'll have your own day to celebrate. After that? Come anytime. And by anytime, I mean anytime close to the 3rd. Let's try not to wait until a week after our 10th due date, okay? I know you're warm and snuggly in there, but I promise you that we can keep you warm and snuggly out here, too.

Speaking of warm and snuggly...How precious is this blanket?

A sweet colleague of Kevin's surprised us with this gift yesterday. Thank you, Catherine! The blanket folds out to four times the size you see pictured above and is so soft. It comes from a boutique nearby where all the items are handcrafted by seniors. Just beautiful. I can't wait to wrap Mia up in it.

I am so glad to see you've come this far. I pray for you [and the other online expectant moms...lots of them...must be in the water] every night. Whatever happens, the birth is just the birth...parenting is the real job. I know you and K will make fabulous parents. He'll be such a good Daddy that all you'll have to focus on is being a Mommy. You might be amazed at how one little one comes with so much STUFF!
