Baby Shower Weekend

We traveled to Pennsylvania this weekend for our fabulous baby shower.

Rather than playing party games, my mom and sister had planned to have every guest make a scrapbook page with a message for Mia. These were then put together in a ladybug scrapbook for us to take home with us. So sweet!

These two girls were my roommates in college, and later bridesmaids in my wedding.

My sister, on the left was one of the co-organizers of the party. On the right is a friend I've known since we were placed next to each other in our seventh grade homeroom.

When I was little, we lived overseas for several years, and this lady and her family were our neighbors. Of everyone there on Saturday, family excluded, she's known me the longest (since age 5). She may be just as excited as the grandparents!

And of course, there was lots and lots of yummy finger foods and a beautiful cake.

Isn't this diaper cake adorable? I almost hate to take it apart!

I opened so many generous gifts. Here's a sample:

In addition, my dad finished custom painting the dresser drawers, and we brought back 3 drawers packed with gifts for Baby Mia. It was a whirlwind weekend, but so much fun. Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us!
We kicked off this week with an early doctor's appointment. Mia was feeling active this morning, and gave the doctor a good kick when she started probing around, finding the heartbeat with the doppler wand. Everything is still going well, and I'll check back in again in about two weeks.
Tonight is our third child preparation class. Phew! It's hard to jump back into the work week after such an indulgent weekend.
