2011 Wrap Up

January
 Mia kicked off the new year by deciding that she was now too big to sleep in a crib. So we made the decision to switch her over to a toddler bed, and haven't looked back!

February

Cold weather means lots of time indoors, which meant lots of home improvement projects.  And shopping trips.    

March
We took a week-long trip to visit the grandparents in Georgia.  The day before we left, we also learned we were expecting Baby #2 (though I had really known even a week earlier, when I started feeling sick at the St. Patrick's Day parade)

April
Mia turned TWO.  I had a birthday, too, but that's less noteworthy ;)

May
This month saw our first attempt (and failure) at potty training.   We also went "public" with Baby #2, and let the fun begin!

June
We took our first beach vacation, and first vacation with both sides of the extended family.  Which, apparently, I didn't blog about.  But it was fun.  Trust me.  Picture lots of sand, boardwalk, and food.

July
Baby #2 is a BOY!  Which has Kevin and I totally shell-shocked because we had convinced ourselves it was another girl.  Surprise!  Mia also went to OmaOpa Camp for several days, a new milestone for us since we'd never spent that much time apart.  She had a BLAST and has since talked about when she'll do it again.

August
The last month of the summer saw us beginning baby preparations and purging some extras around the house.  And probably a good thing we started when we did, because we were "fixing things up" until right before the due date.  Takes alot longer the second time around, when you have a toddler underfoot who is eager to "help."

September
Second attempt at potty-training, this time a success!  Yay for big girls!

October
Lots of baby stuff this month- made progress on the nursery, had a baby shower in Pennsylvania, and took our own maternity photos! Mia also had her first official trick-or-treating experience.

 

November
Kevin turned 30 and we celebrated both at home and with an adults-only weekend trip. The last of the baby preparations were finished in anticipation of a December 1st due date.

December
 He took his sweet time getting here, but Jacob Michael made his dramatic appearance at 4:35 in the morning on December 4th.  Welcome, Baby Boy!
