We're Sleeping Again

Maybe you can tell from the picture on the previous post, but the last two weeks? They've been kinda rough. SOMEBODY decided that she was going to start making bedtime a nightmare. As in, yelling, screaming, throwing things, kicking the door--that sort of ladylike behavior. It was as if a switch had been flipped. We went from bedtime being a smooth end-of-day transition, to the WORST time of day. Add to that the fact that the same SOMEBODY decided that she was going to get up a whole 2 hours earlier AND shorten naps in the afternoon, and you can imagine the fun. And the baggy eyes. And the coffee. My goodness, the coffee.

And then... the switch flipped back. Bedtime has become easy again (knock on wood), wake-up time has gone back to normal, and for the last 2 days, naps have been a record-breaking 3 hours.

Yeah. We have no idea either.

But whatever happened, I'm so incredibly thankful that it's over and we're back on track.

Meanwhile, it's too cold to really play outside, at least for very long, so we've been hanging around the house alot. Which means I'm lazy about getting Mia dressed in the morning. Which means if you knock at my door before noon, she'll look like this:

It's a little hard to tell, but those are footed pajamas...with my red grippy socks on top of that...and Elmo slippers on top of that. The girl's a fashion plate, I tell ya.

All this around the house time means I've gotten a few things checked off the home-repair list. I finally put up the towel-bar that I bought for our bathroom six months ago. And I ripped down the ugly vertical blinds in the playroom and replaced them with my new Pottery Barn curtains. Much, MUCH better.

(Middle picture from when we bought the house)

So there you have it. Not many new and exciting pictures to share because we've pretty much just been hanging out in our pjs and frumpy clothes. Mia's talking up a storm and picking up new words every day, but if I get the FlipCam out, she won't perform. Figures.

Tomorrow we're spending the day up in the mountains with several other families. The guys are going skiing, while the (non-skiing) moms have a big ol' playdate at the home of one of the families. More pictures, then, maybe?

Happy Friday!
