Too cold for the playground, so...

Two weeks ago, I tore down the horrible vertical blinds in our basement playroom and replaced them with great, kid-friendly curtains. Here's the before and after:

Taking those ugly blinds down sort of gave me the bug. While Kevin was at work this morning, Mia and I went browsing at Tuesday morning and walked away with window treatments for three more rooms.

In the living room, I tore down the aluminum blinds replaced them with these:

More aluminum blinds torn down in the dining room. And a friend suggested I spray paint the chandelier black for an inexpensive fix, which I just might do....

And in the kitchen? GONE are the other set of horrible, ugly, no good, very bad vertical blinds.

The panels at Tuesday Morning were $9.99 each (dining room) and $12.99 a pair (kitchen), while the panels in the living room came from Target at $19.99 each. Add to that the shears at $3 a panel, and the rods (which will be replaced by more decorative ones sometime in the future, but work for now), and all 3 rooms came in at less than $100, but the difference is extreme.

I'm happier, at least.

Kevin hasn't seen it yet.

This is what happens in winter when it's too cold to play outside.
