What they say (or don't)

They say that if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all, right?

I don't really have anything nice to say about this week.

In fact, I'm pretty much ready for it to be next week so that I can pretend that this week never happened.

Profound, huh?

Yeah.

That's about all I got.

I've been in a funk for a good part of the week, and despite alot of tossing and turning and not sleeping and running monologues in my head while I'm driving around town, I haven't yet pulled myself out of it.

And just to add insult to injury--Mia has been playing Jekyll and Hyde with me all week. The icing on the cake was a monster meltdown in Target today. Which resulted in condescending looks from the woman in front of me in line. With the mood I'm in, my first instinct was to burst into tears right along with the 18-month old...and then my second was to tear into this woman and let HER try and stop the screaming.

I didn't do either. I kept my tongue while she separated her purchases into two separate transactions while continuing to shoot me nasty looks.

If can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

The tantrum continued for 20 minutes in the car.

I got into the house, put the now settled, but still fussing kiddo in baby jail (the crib) for a few minutes so that I could reset myself.

And discovered I'd bought fat-free instead of whole milk.

*sigh*

If you can't say anything nice....
