We got to the sale about half hour before the doors opened to the public, but that wasn't a concern, because when you get two women together, especially two women with similarly aged toddlers, they can always find something to chat about.
And then the doors were open, and we were off.
It was roughly an hour and a half later when we took a break to examine our loot, have our muffins, and wait for the lines to go down before we joined them.
Then probably another 30 minutes of standing in line.
Three hours after our excursion began, we left, feeling somewhat giddy with our finds.
Mia was in some serious need of some fall/winter wear in 18-month size, so that was my main focus. The pickings are a little bit slimmer the older the kiddos get, as they tend to wear the outfits longer, and less items are "reusable", but I'm happy with what I came away with:
4 pairs of pants, 5 overalls (a must, now that Mia is figuring out how to take her own clothes on and off), 3 tops, and a cute gingham dress.
I also came away with a few extra treats:
Elmo is THE coolest dude in our house right now. Mia enjoys Sesame Street in general, but " 'Lo", as she calls him, is her BFF. That giant Elmo? He cost me $3 and already has provided much enjoyment.
A couple items not pictured are the 4 toddler plates and 2 straw sippy cups that are already in our cabinet, and another treat for our cross-country plane ride in a few weeks, a doll with a zippers, snaps, buttons, and laces.
Grand total? $62.
*sigh* I love bargain shopping.
The next one is in March. Mark your calendars!
