Weekend Happenings

While our big trips are over, we're still enjoying the last few days of summer before fall settles in.

On Saturday, we joined friends for a "Thanksgiving in August." There was a giant turkey, an abundance of sides and salads, corn on the cob, rolls, and several kinds of desserts. A regular ol' Thanksgiving feast. The only difference? The meal was followed by some kiddie pool time for for the little ones. How often do you get to play in the kiddie pool after Thanksgiving dinner?! Wouldn't pictures be great? I think so, too. But SOMEBODY *coughMiacough* wore down the batteries on my FlipCam and forgot to tell me. So. No pictures.

We had our regular Sunday morning routine, then took a picnic lunch to a local park after Mia's nap. She ran, went down the slide (repeatedly), tried the swings (getting better, though still not a huge fan), and ran away from a playground admirer (much to the amusement of both families).
I do have some pictures from that adventure. As always, Kevin gets the photo credit.

Growing up quick, isn't she?

Thanks, Kristie. Looks a little European, doesn't it?

Look at all those teeth! My girl is still just showing 2 :)

About the Flip, we have one as well, and I've learned to keep a small ziploc with spare batteries in the diaper bag at all times.
