Intentional and Unintentional Lessons

Recently, we've been working on following simple commands and I've been impressed with how much she understands, even if she's not speaking yet. In addition to (usually) stopping when told "no-no", she responds appropriately to commands/requests to

  • go upstairs
  • go downstairs
  • go on a trip
  • go outside
  • bring your ball
  • bring dolly
  • bring the monkey (one of her favorite stuffed toys)
  • Put shoes on (cannot do this independently, but sits down and tries)
  • have a snack
  • come here, please (with an accompanying gesture)
  • say hello (waves away from herself)
  • say bye-bye (waves towards herself)
  • give Mommy/Daddy kisses
However, I have NOT explicitly taught her how to do laundry. Which is why this video cracks me up so much.

Well, that and the post-nap bedhead.

I toss the soapy cap into the washtub and it always comes out squeaky clean and none of that goopy residue accumulates on the top of the bottle.

My goodness, but she is a cutie.
