Cherry Blossoms: Mia at The Somme

Today we took Mia downtown to see the cherry blossoms. In the middle of the afternoon we went down an embankment off of Independence Avenue and sat under the shade of the cherry trees. In this picture she decided to crawl back up the embankment toward the road, and I, laying on my belly, captured her portrait as she went.

The way it turned out made me laugh. It looks like she's going over the trenches in Belgium in 1916, not crawling up a hill at the Cherry Blossom Festival.

HA. It does look "monumental" =)

PS - We love "Leaves" and "The Mitten" in our house now too!
