12 Months - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday, Little Mia! You are ONE year old today!

Here is what's been going on:

• You weigh 19 pounds


• You are wearing size 3 diapers


• Some of your 9 month clothes still fit, but you're quickly growing into 12 month, especially in terms of the length


• Another tooth came in this month for a grand total of five.


• You still nap twice a day, though you're starting to shorten your morning nap. You sleep for about an hour in the morning, and 90 minutes in the afternoon.


• Just this week, we finished weaning you from formula. You drink 3 bottles a day- morning, late afternoon, and bedtime. Otherwise, you drink water from your sippy cup, and a little bit of juice at lunchtime.


• You eat three solid meals a day. Some of your favorite meals are spaghetti, grilled cheese, and cream cheese sammies, but you'll pretty much eat whatever we're having, as long as it's not green. You seem to have an aversion to green foods. Which is ironic, because you used to eat pureed peas like they were going out of style.


• You are almost exclusively walking now. I only see you crawl when you're tired or cranky.


• Some new/improved skills this month: Consistently waving hello/goodbye, stacking your Sillytown blocks, drinking out of the sippy cup, climbing on the couch, climbing off the couch (usually...we're still working on this one), and "running".


• "Done!" is your current favorite word.


• We're having a little bit of a problem with screeching when you want something and we don't figure it out fast enough, but we're working on that, too.

Mia, it's hard to believe that this year has gone by so quickly. They say enjoy every moment because children grow up so fast, but it's hard to really understand that statement until you have a child of your own. You're leaving babyhood and moving on to the next phase. We love your personality, your social nature, you're determination to figure out something new. Hold on to these things!
