I took this picture on Friday, February 5th, around noon. You can see that the snow had started sticking to the grass, but not the pavement. This is the view from our front door, looking around the cul-de-sac.
This was 24 hours later, around 10 am on Saturday, February 6th. The storm was still going strong at this point. It finally stopped around dinnertime that night.
And Sunday, February 7th. The whole neighborhood was out shoveling. Our neighbor owns a construction company and had one of his guys out with the heavy equipment overnight. Our cul-de-sac is the only place in the neighborhood where you can see the pavement. The kids LOVED sledding down the 12 foot snow pile. It was a regular party out there this morning.
Later in the after noon, we took Mia off-roading. This is the (sorta) hard-packed snow where the cars have come through. All total, we got between 26 and 27 inches in our DC suburb.

"My husband is Navy. He is getting out in June, but I've been the military wife for the last 5 years, plus a year as the military fiancee.
Congratulations on your baby! So exciting :)
Nice to meet you!"
