A tired old message

I first began blogging in January 2005. I then learned a life lesson: don't start a personal blog without telling your life's partner about it. Even if you only write on personal topics, it makes for a really awkward conversation with your fiancee when she stumbles upon your personal blog that you've been running for six weeks; telling the internet things you haven't told her. That first blog was called "A Message From Earth".

Chastened and wiser, I even talked her into blogging too. She wrote for quite some time as "In My Shoes" before starting this venture when we revealed that our family of two was expanding last fall.

My first message from earth ceased transmitting in an uncomfortable conversation with my ship's XO in October 2005. But I missed writing, and again even more chastened and more wiser, I resumed only a few days later, but under a pseudonym this time. My second effort, "A Corner of the Cosmos" lasted from October 2005 until last fall when I joined the effort here.

But two things have happened in the past year. One was that I discovered an interest and an amateur talent for photography (I took 7058 pictures on my Canon EOS Digital Rebel Xsi last year) and another was that I loved sharing something I had created. So here goes again, starting a new venture of just photos this time, and going back to my very first title, "A Message From Earth". Now that I've learned how to hide blogs from search engines, I can be more brave.

I hope you enjoy my thousands of words.
