This story was making a big stir in the Twitter world this morning. Shortly thereafter, it was followed by
this one. While Walmart and H&M seem to have both made public statements acknowledging the poor judgement of their actions and claiming that they don't know how this could possibly have happened, it makes you wonder how many other stores do the same thing.
Before Christmas, I told Kevin that one of the things I wanted to do in the new year was more charitable works. At the time, we talked about sponsoring a child. We continue to give regularly to our church, which is very active in servicing the community, but I wanted something a little different. I wanted to know exactly where my money went, that it was, in fact, going to meet the needs of individuals who needed it more than we did.
Enter Kristen from
We Are THAT Family and her newest brainchild.

Each month, she's posting a project to be completed and donated to some charity organization. This month's project is lap blanket's for hospice patients. Don't sew? Not a problem! These blankets are
tied together. No needle and thread involved! If you're not sure what I mean, visit her link
here or click on the graphic above for more information and step-by-step instructions.
And just to show you I'm serious, here's my fabric, ready to go. I plan on working on them in the evenings, after Mia goes to bed and while I'm lazing in front of the television.
That's easy enough, right? Won't you consider joining in?
