Thwarted Again

I wanted to share how Mia now lets me know that she's ready to get up from her nap. It used to be that she would cry and I would go upstairs and get her. Then it was that she would start babbling to herself, and when the babbles became more insistent, I would go in. For the last two days, I've heard this rattling sound added to her babbles. I didn't catch what she was doing yesterday. Today I did:

A couple times during the two minutes I filmed, she tried reaching for the top of the crib and I thought she was going to pull herself to her feet, so I kept filming. At the very least, the grandparents will enjoy her happy chatter and just-woke-from-my-nap cuteness. After two minutes, the memory on my little point and shoot camera was about out, so I turned it off and went to switch over a load of laundry before getting Mia out of her crib. I came back to the nursery to find this:

Lest the sleep sack fool you, that is a full standing position. And I missed it. Because I was changing laundry, darnit. And she couldn't do it 30 seconds earlier, while I was standing right there. Noooooo, not my girl. She likes to do things on her own time, thankyouverymuch.

I love the expression on her face. "Hey, Mom. Whatcha doin' with that camera?"

I'm convinced babies wait until do have put the camera/flip video and have your back turned before performing a "first". Our babe does that all the time! Stinkers!
