A Quick English Lesson

Our local NFL team was recently boo'd off the field after a game that resulted in a win, but really was badly played football. Several team members were offended by the booing fans and expressed their dissatisfaction with the fans through various media outlets.

This, in turn, has led to a series of editorials, basically saying, "If you don't want to be boo'd...start playing football."

But most people are missing the funniest part. Check out the quote below, from one of the team's linebackers, that appeared on Twitter:

"All you fake half hearted Skins fan can ... I won't go there but I dislike you very strongly, don't come to Fed Ex to boo dimwits!!"

Those with a background in English/Language Arts, like I have are laughing right now. Because, folks, if you don't put a comma after the word "boo", then "dimwits" refers not to the fans, but to the team members.

I find this absolutely hysterical. It just goes to show you:

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.
