Mia's nursery is a ladybug/garden theme. Before Christmas, my sister went all over town looking for ladybug decals. Turns out that this was quite a task, but she found some really adorable ones. I've been holding on to them until I decided what I really wanted to use them for.
Last week, I bought some plain ol' art canvas and yesterday Kevin spray painted it the same mint green color we're painting the bookcase. This morning, instead of working on my paper, I did this:
In all, it only took me about an hour. I found the font on Microsoft Office and then free-handed it on to the board, first in pencil, then in paint. The rest is just the decals.
I still need to do a topcoat of decoupage to protect it, and attach ribbon to the back to hang it. I think I'm pleased with the result, though. Cute, girly, and simple to do.
