Friday night was one of those nights was one of those nights where Mia was just not letting me sleep, so when Saturday turned into one of those cold, rainy, winter days, we just hunkered down and stayed in. I worked for a few hours in the morning, and then came home, changed into Kevin's pajama bottoms, and a sweatshirt, and then Kevin and I both curled up under the afghan and watched a Netflix pick. Dinner was a frozen pizza followed by a game of Scrabble, in which both of us cheated just a little, and then a quiet night reading in bed. Very cozy.
All that coziness was wonderful, but today we were both ready to get out of the house a little. After church, we headed to Old Town Alexandria and had lunch at a yummy little Italian place. Not much to look at, but authentic food that definitely made it worth the visit. We came home to pick up Erma, our GPS system, which had been left in the other car, and then headed out again to check out Once Upon a Child. This store is a second-hand store with children's toys, equipment, bedding and clothing. As long as they are in good condition, I have no problem dressing Baby Mia in gently used items. And this store? Totally worth the trip. I didn't buy anything today, but I'll be back. The store carries clothing items with labels like Carters, Baby Gap, Osh Kosh, and Gymboree, among others, with prices between $3 and $5 per outfit. You can't beat that in the regular retail stores!
On the way home, we stopped at a Papyrus and found the birth announcements we'll order, eventually. We hadn't gone in planning to seriously look, but these have ladybugs on them, which match our nursery theme perfectly. We also stopped at a Hanna Annderson store. Alot of the items are priced slightly above what I think is reasonable for everyday wear. And lets face it: she'll only wear each item a handful of times before she outgrows it. But back on the clearance rack, I found this dress, marked down from $40 to $15 and I just couldn't pass it up:

I love the little matching flower buttons on the back. Dinner tonight was leftovers while watching the Steelers defeat the Chargers. I have class starting again this week, so it'll be back to grad school work again soon. It's starting to feel as if these next few months will move by pretty quickly. It's nice to have had a weekend like this to just lie around, and then window shop at our leisure.

That dress is adorable! I love Hanna Andersson but refuse to pay full price for it - I can usually find what I want on eBay. We can't live without their pilot caps though! They're the only hats Lilly will actually keep on, they're super soft, they cover their ears, they come in different weights and pretty colors...LOVE. http://tinyurl.com/7df3u4
