I put together the filling, Kevin made the crust. I'm saving it till tonight... pumpkin carving and apple pie.
Also cooking today:

Cinnamon apples in the crockpot, which will eventually cook down to applesauce. Yum!
Also on my mind today...baby names. If Baby is a girl, we know what the name will be, as there is a naming tradition in my family for the eldest granddaughter. When we found out we were expecting, I mentioned this tradition to Kevin, and he agreed right away. So we have a baby girl's name. However, we haven't really come up with a boy's name, beyond a really vague idea. The gender ultrasound is two weeks from tomorrow, and I'd like to start calling Baby by a name around that time, just to test it out and give Baby more of an identity. But geez...this is more of a challenge than I thought it would be! I would like a name that is not so common that there are 4 boys in his class with the same name....but not so uncommon that it's considered weird, or that nobody can pronounce it. After all, Baby will have to live with it for the rest of his life.
No pressure :p

The gender determination is the least of the checks at week 20. Please do not take all this lightly. They are looking for a fully formed skull, a 4 chambered heart, a diaphragm that is keeping all the innards where they belong, a stomach that has fluid in it [food], and a string of pearls known as the spine. And, of course, on my week 20 ultrasound, baby #2 was discovered. I will pray for a good word regardless of gender.
Ruth Anne,
You're right, of course, that there's so much more responsibility and concerns than what we write about here. As first time parents, we have questions about absolutely everything. So I do the best I can to keep Baby safe and healthy, and the rest is in God's hands. Every appointment has me so nerved up that the generally have to take my blood pressure twice...once at the beginning of the appointment and again at the end after I've settled a little. But so far, so good, and that's all I can ask for at this point. Thank you for your continue prayers.
